John and Mary Dolley of Worplesdon

John Dolly, eldest son of John and Mary, was baptised in Worplesdon on 18th October 1763.

Mary Fry, a daughter of John and Mary, was baptised in Wonersh on 6th July 1760.

John Dolley married Mary Fry in Worplesdon on 3rd November 1789 and they had four children baptised there:

John’s burial has not been traced and although Mary has not been found in the 1841 census it is known that she was buried in Worplesdon on 26th November 1843, aged 85.

Of their children:

  • Hannah married William Monk on 7th May 1816 in Send & Ripley where they lived with their children.

  • William married Ann Hale in Elstead on 27th May 1821 and their known children were:

    There may have been other children but these are known from the census records. William and Ann were shown living on Woodbridge Hill in Stoke in each census from 1841 to 1871 and in 1851 they had Ann’s 83-year-old father George Hail staying with them. William was shown as an agricultural labourer. William was buried in Stoke on 7th January 1875, aged 80.
