Will of John Davies
of Moss, Broughton - 1893
This is the last will and testament of me John Davies of Moss Broughton in the County of Denbigh made this seventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three. I hereby revoke all wills by me at any time heretofore made. I appoint my sons James Davies, Joseph Davies and William Davies to be my Executors and I direct that all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid as soon as possible after my decease. I hereby give and bequeath all my real estate consisting of three cottages at Moss Broughton and six cottages at Green Brymbo and all other real property of which I may be possessed at the time of my death, and also all my personal estate of what nature or kind soever unto my wife Mary Davies to have all the proceeds during her life. Upon the decease of my wife and afterwards, all the proceeds of the properties above-mentioned are to be divided in equal shares between my son Hugh and my daughter Frances until Hugh attains the age of twenty-one, after which time all the proceeds are to be for the benefit of Frances alone until she attains the age of twenty-one or until her marriage if it occurs under that age. Until Frances shall have arrived at the age of twenty-one no part whatever of my real estate afore-described is to be sold and no mortgage to be raised upon it and all properties are to be maintained in repair. Then all properties aforesaid are to be the possession of all my children hereinafter named share and share alike; Mary Eleanor the wife of John Jenkins Vaughan, James, Joseph, William, Phoebe the wife of Price Isaac Parry, Emma, Hugh and Frances and in case any of my aforenamed children shall die under the age of twenty-one years then his or her share shall go to his or her children if more than one as tenants in common. But if there shall be no children,then the share of such child shall be equally divided between my other children. Power of sale after the coming of age of Frances is to belong to my Executors. The amount due from the Prudential Insurance Company at my decease I bequeath absolutely to my wife.
Signed published and declared by the said Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in presence of us who at his request in his presence and in presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.

Proved at St.Asaph on the 4th day of October 1893 by the oath of Joseph Davies son of the deceased and one of the Executors to whom administration was granted. Power reserved of making the like grant to James Davies and William Davies sons also of the deceased, the other Executors.
The Testator John Davies was late of Moss Broughton in the County of Denbigh Builder and Joiner and died on the 19th day of September 1893 at Moss aforesaid.
