William Cornwell of Glandford
William was born in Letheringsett in about 1781. He was an agricultural labourer and lived in Glandford where he and his wife are known to have had at least four children:
31 Dec 1815
The earliest record I have of William is the 1841 census by which time he was already a widower. He was still there in 1851 with his daughter, Susan. Two of his sons, Robert and William, were living nearby.
Of their children:
- Robert married Martha and lived in Glandford.
William, an agricultural labourer, married Susannah (born 1828) from Stiffkey. They had the following children in Glandford:
The 1861 census shows that the first three children were attending Blakeney National School. Mary Ann must have died shortly after the census as their next child was also called Mary Ann.
- Their eldest daughter, Maria, married William Henry Bishop, a mariner and son of William Benjamin Bishop, in Cley in 1872.
